Martin Parr Book Signing MONDAY at Clic!

Clic Gallery is pleased to present the legendary photographer MARTIN PARR signing his most recent monograph LUXURY. Featuring an introduction by fashion designer Sir Paul Smith, LUXURY is Parr’s series of satirical color photographs documenting the gaudy extremes of the boom years. Garish shots of diamond jewelry, bored waiters, shopping bags, and champagne-fueled parties in Dubai, Moscow and Beijing are vintage Parr, showcasing his dry humor and fondness for kitsch.
Born in the UK in 1952, MARTIN PARR is the author of over 30 books of photography, and his work is in the permanent collections of the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Tate Modern in London. He is a member of Magnum Photos and has been the subject of retrospectives at the Barbican Art Gallery and the New Media Museum. During his appearance at Clic, Martin Parr will also sign copies of his other works, including MEXICO and PARRWORLD: OBJECTS AND POSTCARDS.
The LUXURY SPECIAL EDITION, of which only one hundred will be made,will also be available for sale at Clic Gallery. This collector’s item features book pages gilt-edged in silver, calf leather binding and slipcase, and is sold with a signed Martin Parr print.

“That’s Great!”: Warhol by Galella at Clic Gallery Centre Street
“THAT’S GREAT!” is a selection of Andy Warhol images by his favorite photographer, legendary paparazzo Ron Galella. Marking the 23rd anniversary of Warhol’s death in February 1987, this is a phenomenal opportunity to pick up a print of one twentieth century icon shot by another. Ron Galella is the subject of forthcoming documentary SMASH HIS CAMERA!, about which Vanity Fair said “There may be no better way to observe celebrity culture than through the lens of Ron Galella.”
