FLAVORPILL NYC says:
Legendary surfer Tony Caramanico is also an accomplished collage artist who worked for Peter Beard; his Surf Journals were published last year. Drew Carolan shot skaters and punk kids on Astor Place and assisted Richard Avedon. And Alberto Vargas, a “crazy talented” 17-year-old was discovered by a gallerist while in high school in Queens. The artwork of these and many other noted documentarians of the surf and skate scenes is on view at Clic. And come early; the limited-edition decks by Hirst, Koons, and Murakami starting at $500 are sure to be flying fast.

After the opening, swing by the Catherine Malandrino boutique next door, which will be open late especially for gallery-goers.

Vincent Fournier on view at Clic Broome

Vincent Fournier’s evocative, creepy photographs of astronaut training centers are currently on display at Broome Street as part of our summer group show. Wallpaper* says:
Playing on the stylised notion of a sci-fi utopia, Fournier’s otherworldly photographs of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre, the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah and the Atacama Desert Observatories in Chile – alongside a series of surprisingly stringy trainee astronauts – offer an alternative view of the world, unseen by many and known by few.
